Below you’ll find a list of scientific posters that show how Genoskin helps science move forward using cutting-edge technology. Our Research & Development Department creates increasingly innovative skin models with a high predictive value for reliable study results. We constantly broaden our range of applications to help industries test drugs and compounds on models that are adapted to their needs. Our research mainly focuses on skin metabolism and pathological skin models.
VaxSkin®, an innovative platform to advance vaccine development
The VaxSkin® platform provides a unique framework for the study of the early steps of immune response to vaccines and, combined with different technologies, it might help to maximize specific immune targeting or evaluate adjuvant potency ahead of clinical trials.
Toxicity studies – Assess injection site reaction and local tolerability
The identification of safer next-generation therapeutic candidates that do not trigger injection site reactions or local toxicity represents a major challenge. Genoskin uses bio stabilized immunocompetent skin explants from multiple donors of different age and sex to assess the extent to which a compound may trigger these reactions
Psoriasis studies – Testing solutions for topical and injectable therapeutics
Genoskin’s InflammaSkin® psoriasis skin model us a T cell-driven skin inflammation model for psoriasis. This cutting-edge assay is designed to assess the efficacy of subcutaneously-delivered or topical applied anti-inflammatory treatments.
NativeSkin®, an immunocompetent skin model to study antigen uptake
NativeSkin® is a patented human skin model that allows the culture, treatment, and manipulation of human skin for research and analysis. This model can be used to predict human skin response to treatments. The presence of live human immune cells enables the study of allergen uptake during epicutaneous immunotherapy.
NativeSkin®, a relevant model to study the impact of CBD on skin
CBD has been hailed as the hottest new ingredient in skin care, with CBD-containing products appearing on the market at a record pace. In partnership with Genemarkers, we established a method to identify the mechanism of action, verify efficacy and validate claims of CBD isolates and formulations.
Woundskin®, an innovative model to study wound healing
The wounded HypoSkin® model is suitable to study wound infection. This model gives you the opportunity to evaluate topical therapies and dressings after prophylactic administration, to prevent wound infection, or assess therapeutic treatment for infected wounds.
NativeSkin®, maintaining skin integrity and metabolism
We demonstrated that NativeSkin® can be cultured for up to 10 days while preserving normal skin integrity, significant cell viability, proliferative cells and low levels of apoptosis. Our next step will be to evaluate the activity of specific human skin cytochromes involved in the metabolization of drugs topically applied on NativeSkin®.
Light-sheet microscopy technology, in-depth skin structure visualization
Light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) is an attractive approach that has shown promise for the acquisition of volumetric data of thick tissues. When combined with optical clearing methods, LSFM allows in-depth optical sectioning and generation of 3D images of entire human skin biopsies.
